4 Classic Mary Berry Recipes That We Adore
It is no secret that we think The Queen of Cakes, Mary Berry is a total legend. And it is NOT just because she rocks a bomber jacket like she invented them or because she introduced us to the phrase ‘soggy bottom’.. we love her for her commitment to her craft, the pearls of wisdom she so openly shares and her foolproof recipes that have save the day for our birthday parties, dinner parties, bake sales and every occasion in between!
This year, we teamed up with Mary Berry for an exciting recipe competition tasking the fair people of Ireland, specifically the passionate amateur bakers to create a wonderful dairy recipe that could be served at Afternoon Tea. The winning recipes to be served not just ANY Afternoon Tea, but an exclusive Afternoon Tea at the 2018 National Ploughing Championships with Mary Berry herself! Don’t believe us? See for yourself! The stand is open for guests of the Ploughing to watch on as Mary samples the dairy delicacies and chats about her life and career!
Forget London fashion week, all roads lead to #Ploughing18, and just in time we have rounded up 4 classic Mary Berry recipes that should be in everyone’s baking repertoire…
WICKED CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
Our fair Mary’s plain and simple chocolate mousse – no frills. A good pudding to serve if you have all ages coming for lunch.
CLASSIC SPECIAL SCONES
Apparently the secret of a good scone is not to have the mixture too dry and not to handle the dough too much. We thought the secret was to eat them while they were fresh from the oven with fresh cream and strawberry jam… We shall take your word Mary.
Have you got a special occasion around the corner? This gateau could be your show stopper: four layers of cake with truffle filling and silky chocolate icing. We recommend you submit this cake along with your CV to all future job applications, I mean come on? EVERYONE wants colleague than can whip this up for office birthdays…
These are only a handful of the delightful recipes on www.maryberry.co.uk.
Happy baking, and if you want to meet the Queen of Cakes (and us!) pop by the National Dairy Council stand on Wednesday 19th September, Block 2 Row 10 Stand 224 – you can’t miss us!
